Position Summary:

The Senior Finance Manager will lead the company’s finance function, oversee all financial activities, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards. You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with the senior leadership team to align financial strategy with overall business objectives. Your insights will help shape decisions and improve financial efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the finance department, including accounting, reporting, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and strategic investments.
  • Prepare and review company budgets, forecasts, and financial models, providing recommendations based on performance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, statutory obligations, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and respond to audit findings with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement robust internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely financial reports and insights to the executive team, enabling informed strategic planning.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Review and approve supplier payments, payroll, and other financial obligations.
  • Mentor and develop finance staff, ensuring efficient workflows and fostering professional growth.

  • Ensure accurate and secure record-keeping and archival of all financial documents.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Full professional qualification from a recognized body (e.g., CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth understanding of Sri Lankan tax laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in working with large data sets.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Sinhala.
  • Strong track record of managing financial teams and reporting at a senior level.
