Position Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated QS Trainee to join our growing team in Kandy. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring professionals seeking hands-on experience in quantity surveying within a dynamic consultancy environment. You will assist with key QS functions, including cost estimation, BOQ preparation, tender documentation, and on-site data validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates for various projects.
- Conduct site visits to gather accurate measurements and verify specifications.
- Support the preparation of tender and contract documentation.
- Monitor project progress and assist in cost control reporting.
- Work closely with senior surveyors and engineers on budgeting and documentation.
- Maintain detailed records, measurement sheets, and progress reports.
- Utilize QS software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, MS Excel) for quantity and cost management tasks.
Qualifications
- A Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous exposure to fieldwork and BOQ preparation is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with cost estimation and project progress tracking.
- Proficiency in relevant tools such as AutoCAD, CostX, and MS Excel.
- Analytical thinking and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
