In this role, you will engage directly with individuals and families to help them navigate financial decisions, identify long-term goals, and provide guidance on how to build, manage, and protect their wealth. This is a client-facing position that combines personalized financial advice with ongoing relationship management.
The ideal candidate is someone who brings both financial knowledge and strong interpersonal skills. If you take pride in being honest, detail-oriented, and solution-focused, this role may be well suited to you.
Position Summary:
As an Executive Wealth Planner, your main responsibility is to offer sound, tailored financial advice to clients within the Kurunegala region. This includes assessing client needs, offering appropriate financial products, and helping clients make informed decisions about savings, investments, retirement planning, and insurance. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining relationships, understanding each client’s financial landscape, and proposing practical strategies that suit their objectives.
This role involves trust-building, regular follow-up, and a commitment to staying informed about financial products, regulatory updates, and market movements. You must be able to explain financial concepts in a clear, responsible way that supports long-term planning and client peace of mind.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one consultations with clients to assess financial needs, short-term and long-term goals, and existing financial portfolios.
- Develop personalized financial plans that align with client objectives, risk tolerance, and current financial standing.
- Recommend suitable products and services, such as savings plans, investment accounts, retirement funds, and life or health insurance policies.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of clients, offering ongoing support and conducting periodic reviews of financial plans.
- Keep accurate records of client meetings, plan updates, product recommendations, and all financial transactions.
- Stay current on financial regulations, product offerings, taxation matters, and market developments that may impact client recommendations.
- Follow up with prospective clients and existing clients regularly to maintain engagement and ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as underwriting, compliance, and operations to ensure seamless client service.
- Attend training sessions, product briefings, and workshops to maintain certification and professional development.
- Meet assigned performance targets and uphold service quality standards in all client interactions.
Required Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in finance, economics, business, management, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of work experience in financial services, sales, banking, or advisory roles.
- A working understanding of financial products, insurance, investment instruments, and tax regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital communication tools.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts in plain terms.
- Fluency in Sinhala and English; Tamil is an asset but not required.
- Strong organizational habits and the ability to manage time effectively.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally within the Kurunegala area.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in wealth management, insurance sales, or private banking.
- Familiarity with financial planning tools or CRM systems.
- Capacity to work independently and manage a client portfolio without close supervision.
- A respectful and professional demeanor when working with clients across income levels.
- A clear commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality in all financial dealings.
- Interest in long-term career growth within the financial advisory space.
- Ability to remain composed during market fluctuations or when delivering difficult advice.
Work Conditions:
- This is a full-time position based in Kurunegala, with regular travel to client locations within the district.
- Standard working hours apply, with occasional evening or weekend meetings based on client availability.
- You will work both in-office and in the field. Office space and administrative support will be provided.
- Compensation includes a base salary, performance-based incentives, and allowances for travel and communication.
- All necessary training and certification support will be provided, along with compliance monitoring and risk training.
What We Expect From You:
- A commitment to responsible, client-focused service above short-term sales.
- The ability to build trust with clients by offering clear, reliable advice rooted in sound financial principles.
- A high standard of personal accountability, including timely reporting and adherence to compliance protocols.
- A willingness to seek feedback, learn continuously, and improve your advisory approach.
- Transparent communication with clients and internal teams.
- A long-term mindset that values relationships over transactions.
What You Can Expect From Us:
- Comprehensive onboarding and continuous training to support your success in the role.
- Clear expectations, realistic performance targets, and regular feedback on progress.
- Access to a broad suite of financial products, including investment, savings, and insurance solutions, from respected partners.
- Support from experienced financial professionals and back-office teams.
- A structured career development path with opportunities to grow into senior advisory or leadership roles.
- A compensation structure that rewards both performance and professionalism.
Who Should Apply:
You should consider applying if you:
- Enjoy working with people and helping them solve real-world financial problems.
- Are comfortable with numbers, budgets, and explaining the practical implications of financial decisions.
- Are disciplined in managing your time, tracking progress, and following up with clients.
- Live in Kurunegala or nearby and have good knowledge of the local community and its financial landscape.
