Role Overview
We are currently seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and results-driven Student Counselor to join our Kurunegala campus. As a key part of our academic advisory team, you will guide prospective and current students in making informed educational and career decisions, ensuring they receive the support needed to excel academically and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized academic and career counseling tailored to each student’s goals, strengths, and interests.
- Guide students in selecting suitable programs and understanding educational pathways.
- Assist with enrollment consultations, addressing concerns related to course structures, timelines, and eligibility.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by responding to inquiries, providing accurate program information, and maintaining consistent follow-up.
- Conduct workshops and orientation sessions on academic planning, time management, and career readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and monitor student progress where relevant.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrative teams to enhance student retention and satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in academic or career guidance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Sinhala/Tamil
- Ability to empathize and engage with students from diverse backgrounds
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of higher education systems and career development frameworks
- Certification in counseling or career guidance will be an added advantage
