About the Role
We are seeking a Level 1 SOC Analyst to strengthen our cybersecurity operations team in Colombo. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about cybersecurity, threat detection, and real-time monitoring. As a frontline defender, you will play a key role in safeguarding ISA’s systems and data assets by identifying and responding to threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time security events using SIEM platforms and other tools
- Triage and respond to alerts, categorizing threats based on severity
- Conduct preliminary investigation and escalate incidents as required
- Create detailed reports of incidents and maintain accurate documentation
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement security best practices
- Participate in threat hunting and contribute to threat intelligence
- Ensure compliance with internal and external cybersecurity standards
- Stay up to date with evolving threats and attack vectors
- Support shift-based SOC operations (24×7), including weekends if needed
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in SOC or IT security operations
- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar) preferred
- Proficient in English (written and verbal communication)
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, or similar
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and other network protocols
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and NIST guidelines
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
- Flexibility to work rotational shifts (including night and weekend shifts)
